Andrew Davie PT, DPT, Cert. LSVT BIG

Andrew moved  to Colorado in 2019 seeking a new adventure with his wife focusing on an active lifestyle near the Rockies. Andrew, originally from Connecticut, received his bachelors from the University of Connecticut in 2010 and graduated from Mercy College in New York with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019. Prior to graduate school, Andrew worked as a therapy aide in both outpatient and acute care settings for 6 years, soaking in as much knowledge as possible from the therapists around him. Andrew believes that everyone deserves a chance at living their life to the fullest and works to help his patients reach goals that allow them to do so.

Andrew has a strong passion for working with patients that have experienced back and neck pain and injuries as well as patients that have various neurological disorders including Parkinson’s, dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Andrew’s passion for working with the spine began while he was working as an aide in an acute rehabilitation hospital for 5 years where he was able to assist and learn from expert therapists in treating patients with newly diagnosed back and spinal cord injuries. Andrew’s interest in the spine and neurological conditions stems from the fact that no two patients present the same and it requires looking at the patient as a whole individual to come up with a personalized treatment plan. When working with the spine Andrew utilizes the Mckenzie and Mulligan treatment approaches, both techniques that utilize the patient’s repetitive movements along with mobilization to correct dysfunction. Andrew also utilizes Proprioceptive Neuromuscular facilitation for patients with neurological disorders to improve muscular coordination, strength, endurance, mobility, and control in order to improve overall balance, improve movement and decrease risk for falls.

Andrew has focused his career on working with patients that present with multiple and complex diagnoses in order to strengthen his clinical knowledge and differential diagnosis skills. Over the last few years Andrew has worked with many patients presenting with both orthopedic injuries and surgeries as well as neurological diseases. Andrew is a certified LSVT BIG therapist and has been working closely with the Parkinson’s community for the last 2 years both as a clinician and as a support group leader for the Parkinson Association of the Rockies. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Andrew has also been working closely with patients that have had difficulty recovering as a result of complex medical conditions including respiratory, cardiac and neurological diagnoses. In his free time, Andrew enjoys hiking, snowboarding, trivia and Disc Golf.
