Candace Townley Cox PT, DPT,ATC , Cert. FDN

Dr. Candace Townley Cox is a Colorado Native who has always been passionate and energized by the human body and what it can do. Candace’s career in sports medicine began in 2010 while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Here Candace fell in love with the competitive atmosphere surrounding sports medicine. Playing for the university’s Women’s Basketball team she fell in love with the concept of “Faster, Better, Stronger” and strived to achieve that not only for herself but for all athletes working under her care.

Following undergrad Candace returned to Colorado, accepting a position as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Regis University in Denver, CO. It was here she earned her Master’s degree in Sports Performance while working specifically with the Women’s Volleyball and Softball teams. Candace provided sports medicine coverage for each team, attending every practice, game, and accompanied them to NCAA National Championships and European World Tours traveling across Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Portugal, and Spain for competition.

Continually hungry to deliver better quality care Candace continued her education at Regis University earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. This is where Candace was able to take her sports medicine skills; advance and refine them for the orthopedic setting of physical therapy. Candace utilizes movement screening tools, Functional Dry Needling (FDN), manual therapy, cupping & graston techniques, accompanied with skilled exercise programming to help all individuals obtain their goals. Whether you are preparing for surgery, a post-operative patient, or looking to avoid surgery, Candace can help!

Since graduating Candace has spent countless hours in Sport Science Labs assessing movement quality, efficiency, as well as bone and muscle performance. As a movement expert Candace is able to address the body’s impairments both from a table assessment and from functional movement assessments. Candace states that the best part of her job is showing individuals what they are capable of achieving. She enjoys working with motivated athletes and is well accustomed to working with individuals of all calibers. From professional mountain bikers, runners, enduro racers, rock climbers, Olympic level cyclist, Ironmen/women, high school athletes, to your traditional weekend warrior Candace is ready to help you reach your goals, injury or no injury! She is eager to join you on your journey to “Faster, Better, Stronger.”

Candace loves being a Colorado native and spends much of her free time outdoors. She enjoys trail running, hiking, fishing, camping, and if she’s lucky all in one day. During the winter months you can find her cheering on the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High & waxing her snowboard anxiously waiting for some fresh powder on the slopes.
