Mary graduated from the University of Colorado Health Science Center with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Physical Education from Denison University. Prior to committing to a career in physical therapy, she worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group exercise coordinator.
After an injury, Mary became interested in Pilates while at UCHSC studying physical therapy. She received her Polestar Pilates Certification the same year she graduated UCHSC with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. With 20 years of experience teaching Pilates, working in out-patient physical therapy, consulting in ergonomics and practicing senior concierge medicine and Home Health, Mary has a wide variety of experience with varied patient populations including young and older athletes, dancers, cyclists, runners, golden-agers and industrial and professional workers.
Mary is new to Physio Pro. Her strong orthopedic background has contributed to her whole body approach to movement. As a physical therapist, Mary has developed an interest in chronic pain, by combining deep core strengthening with stretching, coordination, balance and strength, Mary helps to improve posture while establishing intelligent movement patterns. Mary teaches Pilates with the goal of bringing anatomy and physiology to life through movement.
When not working Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family dog. She is usually never sitting still walking, hiking, cycling, running, practicing Pilates or swimming outdoors when possible. She practices good posture when “sitting still” with her other loves cooking and reading.
